Biomédica, journal of the Colombian Instituto Nacional de Salud, is a scientific quarterly that operates according to Resolution 003768 of 1981 issued by the Ministry of the Interior. It has a reduced postal fee according to Resolution 1128 of May 5, 1982. Its main purpose is the publication of original research studies in the field of biomedicine.
No national or foreign publication may partially or totally reproduce or translate its articles or abstracts without prior written permission from the editor. Neither the journal nor the Instituto will be held responsible for the opinions expressed by authors. The journal will not publish any type of commercial publicity. The names of equipment, materials and manufactured products that may eventually be mentioned in articles do not imply any recommendation or publicity for their use, and only their generic name will be mentioned.
Biomédica is indexed in Index Medicus/Medline of the National Library of Medicine, as well as the Science Citation Index Expanded (also known as SciSearch®) and the Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition of Clarivate Analytics, in SciELO Colombia(Scientific Electronic Library Online), in the Literatura Latinoamericana en Ciencias de la Salud (LILACS) index, in the Red de Revistas Científicas de América Latina, el Caribe, España y Portugal (RedAlyC), in the Índice Mexicano de Revistas Biomédicas Latinoamericanas (Imbiomed), in Elsevier B.V.
